Season two began with the search for a new Angel. Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg had asked actress Cheryl Ladd to replace the departing Farrah Fawcett-Majors. Cheryl, who had recently lost the role of the eldest daughter on Family, innitially said "no" to the idea of replacing Farrah. A couple months later, Cheryl was asked once again to take the role. Eventually she agreed, after some minor adjustments were made to the character. She would be Kris Munroe, the rookie sister of Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett), who would make mistakes but eventually triumph in the end. The audience was taken with this new Angel, so the show kept its high ratings as they continued catching the bad guys! Along with a new Angel, the show received a new time slot. The Angels remained on Wednesday nights, but moved from 10pm to 9pm. This change in time opened up a whole world of new viewers and kept the "Angels" right where they belong - on top (of the ratings)!

In the toy world, the pre-existing Charlie's Angels toys were re-produced with Kris Munroe's (Ladd) likeness in place of Jill Munroe's (Fawcett). Along with these changes, new and additional toys were created: Lunchbox, Doll Van, Colorform Set, Gold Coast Doll Outfits, Magic Slate, Rainy Day Set and a Cosmetic Set.

Both as a team phenomenon and individually, the Angels found themselves on the covers of TV Guide, People and a various Hollywood magazines.

The second season ended with high ratings, proving that Cheryl Ladd was a successful replacement for Farrah Fawcett.
