Smith's Before He Wakes

Jaclyn Smith long awaited Before He Wakes aired December 1st on CBS.

Before He Wakes, is a drama based on the best- selling book of the same title by Jerry Bledsoe. It's about the true story of a woman whose dream of wealth becomes a lethal nightmare. Smith portrays Bridgette Smith Michaels who is willing to lie, cheat, steal and even murder her loved ones to protect the facade of her wealthy lifestyle. Bridgette returns to her hometown with her young son after her first husband dies in an "accidental" shooting. She soon meets and falls in love with Ron Michaels (Timothy Carhart), a popular, upstanding high school basketball coach who has just gone through a painful divorce. When they marry, Ron not only loves his beautiful new wife and her son, Mark (Clayton Taylor), but he is amazed to see them begging to live a luxury lifestyle.

Their marriage collapses when Ron discovers that they are deeply in debt. As the financial problems escalate, what will Bridgette do to keep her lifestyle to her liking? Will there be another "accident"? Tune in on CBS to find out!

A Telemundo Angel!

On Thursday December 10, 1998 - Telemundo and Sony Entertainment held a media event to introduce actress-singer Patricia Manterola as the star of their new one hour crime series called Angeles. The series will begin airing on the Telemundo network in January 1999.

The Sony Family has high hopes for Angeles, which is a remake of the 70’s classic Charlie’s Angels. Patricia Manterola will portray angel, Adriana Vega, a passionate and empowered ex-cop gone undercover. Manterola’s is already a major superstar throughout South America. She was a member of the successful musical group “Garibaldi,” played a lead role in “Acapulco Cuerpo y Alma” a well known soap opera and has a successful singing career. Also in 1996 Manterola won Mexico’s “Best Actress of the Year” Award.

“Patricia has displayed incredible versatility throughout her career and we look forward to showcasing her multi-faceted talents in a variety of mediums” - Jon Feltheimer, President, Columbia TriStar Television Group and Executive Vice President, Sony Pictures Entertainment.

One would only hope that Telemundo and Sony Entertainment once again find that angel stardust which Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg found with three beautiful girls solving crime! Good Luck, Angels!

Ratings - Jaclyn Smith’s recent film Before He Wakes for CBS came in at #27 in the Nelson Ratings - out of 117 show for the week of Nov. 30-DEC 6. Tanya Robert’s Fox - That ‘70s Show came in at #47 this week.

Court - On October 29, 1998 - Farrah Fawcett’s ex-boyfriend James Orr was sentenced by Los Angeles Superior court Judge Robert Altman to 100 hours of community service at a battered women’s shelter and 104 hours to undergo counseling. Orr was also fined $500 and ordered him to stay away from Fawcett.

Series - Telemundo’s upcoming series Angeles based on Charlie’s Angels will star, actress-singer Patricia Manterola as Adriana Vega. The series will begin airing on Telemundo in January 1999.

Ladd on NBC's Jesse!

Cheryl Ladd will also guest star on Christina Applegate’s NBC hit series Jesse. In the episode titled “Crazy White Female,” Ladd portrays a beer deliverywoman who stumbles upon former classmate John Sr. (George Dzundza). Thirty years after first falling head-over-heels with his fellow classmate romance is sparked again. John resists asking out, the mousy beer driver (Ladd) despite the pleas of his daughter Jesse (Christina Applegate).

The love filled, Jesse episode featuring Cheryl Ladd will aired February 11, 1999 at 8:30pm- 9:00pm EST on NBC. Fireworks folks, just Fireworks!

Cheryl Ladd also started a week long online chat on Entertainment Asylum event which showcases a Regal by Buick in a auction on Ebay, to raise funds for Childhelp USA. Telemundo's ANGELES
Premieres!

The new series Angeles is based on our favorite classic series Charlie's Angels! The Angeles, a Spanish version, will re-film and update ALL the old Charlie's Angels scripts! Also it's said that the series will even use the original Angel logo and even be subtitled in English! So make sure to tune in a see the premiere!

ANGELES:
These Angels are strong women with special talents and hidden resources, relying on their wits and each other to survive their deadly adventures.

Adriana (Patricia Manterola) is an ex-cop, hot-headed, passionate, intense and an undercover chameleon.

Elena (Sandra Vidal) is an ex-FBI agent, cool, sophisticated, aloof and a computer hacking expert.

Gina (Magali Caicedo) is an ex-cat burglar, tough, sassy, and unpredictable.

--and they were brought together to work as the new team for Charlie.

These Angels have joined forces to fight crime as private eyes at "Angeles Investigations" in a fictional not-so-peaceful Southern California coastal town called Costa Rosa. The only contact with the faceless Charlie is by a very sexy, David Boes (Mauricio Mendoza).

Smith's NEW film - Freefall

After a commercial airline freefalls into a fatal crash, the investigation is in full swing. Renee Bernnan (Jaclyn Smith) from he National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) arrives on the crash site as does her boyfriend Mark Ettinger (Bruce Boxleitner) who works for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The twosome uncover that the crash was no random accident but the work of a madman with an vendetta who has made Renee his target.

Despite Renee protest, the airline reports that their airline is safe. After another airplane crash the mystery man makes his intentions known. He plans to make four crashes based on a report Renee wrote about last years Seattle crash - which the pilot was blamed. The FAA ignored Renee’s report which stated four possible mechanical causes for crash. Renee digs deep into the Seattle crash to find the husband of the pilot is responsible for the plane crashes. The third crash kills Renee’s boyfriend. With her seatbelt on and the cabin loosing pressure.. as the mask fall.....Renee find she is trapped on the fourth freefalling plane!
